How long does it take to make a video?

Some of our best work has been finished in a day, some in a month, and some in 6 months. It actually depends a lot on you! In our business, client review is everything. When we finish a rough cut and send it for review, if you get back to us quickly, we use that information to finish that much sooner. We love feedback. Good or bad, it makes us better and puts you into the video business faster.

How much will it cost to make my production?

It depends on the program you choose. We have some mini-docs priced at only $1000. Other programs with multimedia components add complexity and value. Together, we will come up with a program that fits your budget.

What will I need to provide you with?

Your open mind. Your open doors. Your story up until now. Oh, and a nice version of your logo.

What will be my ROI?

What would you like it to be? Seriously, this is not a cookie-cutter solution, so we can design it based on your needs and desires and not on what we have sitting on the shelf. You’re commissioning a masterwork for a very special reason: the growth of your business. You tell us what you need in terms of ROI and we’ll tell you if it’s doable based on your marketing strategy. And we won’t proceed unless we all feel we can hit that target.

Where would I use it for maximum impact?

If it’s a marketing video, we’ll find out where your market goes and go there with them, linking the video back to your landing page. But it isn’t just one location. Your video can be replicated innumerable times. The ultimate would be to go viral. But when we finish sending your video to enough of these prime locations, we’ll draw your site to the top of the search results.

What qualifies you to share our vision? There are a million video agencies out there.

Yes, there are, but there’s only one TotalView Media. Our tag line is “We tell your story. Only better.” A bold claim, but one we work hard to back up with every production. For 20 years, we’ve been the choice for discriminating clients looking for on-time, on-target, on-budget, great ROI video. We’ve taught in the university, produced all over the world for multinational corporations, been the studio of choice for great advertising agencies, and helped local companies and organizations achieve and exceed their communication goals.

I hear a video company is best if it specializes in one vertical. What is your specialty?

When we started, it was medical imaging with our sister company, MedView Media. That company still serves our medical clients who rely on us year after year. But what we’ve learned about the story process over time has enabled us to serve a number of businesses that would benefit from creating and sustaining long-term relationships with their customers. Specializing is good when you start. But there’s a surprising commonality to the problems and solutions that many companies face. The circumstances make them unique, but the problem-solving skills remain the same.

What about those cheap-looking videos getting millions of hits? Why make it look good when making it look bad seems to work better?

If degrading the look of a video bonds you to your audience, great. Of course, not all communication is business to consumer, where this technique is mostly seen. And believe me, in the case of many consumer brands, this is a subtle technique. They start with a pristine image and degrade it very carefully so none of the message is lost. Likewise, when communicating with other businesses, pay attention not only to the message, but to how the message is put together. Sometimes you may indeed want to make it look like it just got out of bed and rushed out the door, and sometimes you may want to dress it up for a night on the town. But just as showing up at your sister’s wedding in your pajamas and bed-head wouldn’t do, sending your video out half-made-up is likewise not exactly a recipe for success. In video and in life, dressing for the occasion is nearly always a good idea.

How do you choose your clients?

They choose us! But we have noticed that they benefit from the creation of long-term relationships with their customers, clients or patients. They have someone near the top with a high degree of passion. Above all, they have a story to tell, and a product or service about which they feel their public should be equally passionate.
